Marissa A. Jarrett - Marissa has a long history of involvement with physical activity starting with school sports including basketball and softball. After high school her interests moved towards step aerobics and bicycling. After having 3 children she found it challenging to do her step-aerobics at home without one of her daughters trying to share her step. So she changed her plan and put two of them in a bike trailer and the other in a bike seat and bam! Resistance cardio training was re-invented! It was not uncommon for her to ride more than 6 miles twice a day like this, sometimes even with her dog in tow! But as the kids grew she knew she needed to make another change and find a gym for her to add new variety to her program. In 1995 she decided to become certified in Group Fitness and began instructing others at various gyms. Shortly after, she started adding weight training into her routine then decided to work with a personal trainer to perfect her technique and form. After a month the results were so apparent that her trainer recommended that she enter a body building contest. 16 weeks later she overwhelming dominated the Mid-Michigan Body Building Championships winning her Middleweight division as well as the Overall beating out more than 30 other contestants. In 1998 she became Certified as a Personal Trainer and has been helping men and women reach their fitness goals in a variety of fashions; for Body For Life, Breast Cancer 3-day walks, Weight Reduction, Sports training, Strength training, Muscle Building and Bone Density training. Seeing how her healthy lifestyle inspired those around her was the ultimate compliment to all her hard work. She has helped countless friends, family and clients change their lives in a positive and healthy manner and she is delighted to have been their inspiration!
